The Frontier League's 16th franchise in Brockton, Massachusetts, has been acquired by a new ownership group led by Hall-of-Famer Jim Rice, the former Boston Red Sox great.
The team will return to its historic name, the Brockton Rox, for the 2025 season. Rice, an 8-time MLB All-Star and 1978 AL MVP, expressed his excitement to be part of a local baseball team and emphasized his commitment to supporting youth programs in the area, building on his legacy of charitable work with the Jimmy Fund.
